Differentiated & Data Driven Instruction

Students need more than a good curriculum to succeed. They need to be met where they are. We will use a curriculum created by a special education teacher with 22 years of experience working with children with disabilities. This curriculum is data driven, but also differentiated to meet all learning styles. Each student will be given a placement test to analyze what level they are currently in. Teachers are trained to use accommodations, communication tools for students with speech impairments, and behavior plans for those who require support with behavior.
Theatre Class

Many children with disabilities struggle to communicate and express their emotions freely. Theatre offers children many benefits including boosting confidence, communication and creativity. Children do not have to speak to be able to act in a play. They can express through their facial expressions and use tools such as props and costumes to convey a message. We know your children will fall in love with theatre, and you will be able to witness their talent in their first performance.
Cooking Class

Cooking classes for our students will offer growth in many areas such as life skills and independence, fine motor skills, problem solving skills, teamwork, and much more. We acknowledge that many children with disabilities struggle with restrictive diets. These classes aim to help children foster healthier eating habits and help children try new foods. Children will also practice math as they count and measure ingredients . Most importantly students will feel proud when they learn to prepare new dishes and treats fort their families.
Sensory Rooms in every classroom

In a world filled with noise, technology and distractions all around us, our children often feel overstimulated. They do not know how to cope with all that surrounds them and often they act out presenting maladaptive behaviors such as aggression and emotional outbursts. Having a sensory room in every classroom allows students to request a break when they feel overwhelmed. Some students might enjoy the activities in the room so much that they might choose to work on academics or complete an assignment to gain access to the sensory room. Teachers will be able to use the room as positive reinforcement for their students. The rooms are equipped with calm lights, sensory toys, sensory swings and a relaxed atmosphere.
Small group instruction

Public schools offer classrooms with up to 24 students per teacher. This produces exhausted and overstimulated teachers. Students with disabilities in large classrooms may not show progress because they require one on one support. Envision Hope Academy offers small classes with no more than ten students per class. This ensures each student will have access to one on one time with his teacher throughout the lesson.
